The 2008-09 budget provides $16.5 million in new funding to up to 25 urban municipalities under the Urban Highways Connectors program.

Saskatchewan has been noted for being at the leading edge in the development of new road and trucking technology. The province will continue to work in partnership with industry and universities to develop new trucking technologies, which will provide safe, efficient equipment - minimizing damage to the road infrastructure.

The trucking industry is increasingly important to the people of Saskatchewan. We will work with the trucking industry to create a positive environment that enables the industry to provide service as efficiently as possible, giving due regard to the safety of the motoring public and preservation of the publicly owned highway infrastructure.

Call 1-866-933-5290 if you are commercial carrier seeking regulation information and technical advice from Transport Compliance Branch staff before going on the road. The inquiry line operates weekdays, except statuary holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Transport Compliance Branch consists of the Highway Transport Patrol, Transport Investigation Office and Head Office.
