Throne Speech 2008
Did you know?

The longest bridge in Saskatchewan is the Nipawin Bridge on Highway 55 (466.3 metres or 1,530 ft).

Tri-drive tractors with semi-trailers are currently not recognized by provincial regulations; however, recognizing the industry demand to use these vehicles, the province is currently accommodating these vehicles by permitting them under the Trucking Programs, Transportation Partnership Program (TPP).

The TPP will enter into Partnership Agereements to permit tri-drive straight trucks (body-jobs) carrying divisible loads for oilfield related service. Tri-drive Vac trucks, and similar equipment may be permitted through the SGI Permit Office.

Tri-drive trucks are NOT allowed to haul full or pony trailers due to dynamic stability concerns.

In order to permit tri-drive trucks under a TPP the company should contact the program staff with the following information:

  • Tare weights for the steering and drive axle groups.
  • Loaded weights for the steering axle and drive axle group.
  • Overall vehicle dimensions (internal and external).
  • Intended use of vehicles.
  • Vehicles must be registered in Saskatchewan, or pro-rated for Saskatchewan.

Trucking Partnership Program staff would be happy to answer any questions and to assist your company in achieving transportation efficiencies. Please contact Bill Cooke, Director, Trucking Programs at 306-787-5526 for further information.
