Spring Road Restrictions - General Information Weight PermitsOver dimensional and out of province applications for over weight permits are available from the Central Permit Office at 1-800-667-7575. For out of province callers 1-306-775-6969. Over Weight permits originating in the Province during the spring road restriction perio ,must be obtained from the Area Manager for the respective Area. The Province is divided into fifteen Areas.
Rural Municipalities Rural Municipalities are responsible for all municipal roads in the municipality and issue over weight permits within their own municipality. Contact the municipality directly, as not all participate in the spring weight restriction program. Rural Municipalities may also set weight restrictions lower than those published for Saskatchewan highways. Highway Types that are Restricted Generally, only the Thin Membrane Surfaced (TMS) highways or secondary highways are subject to spring road restrictions.
