This manual provides a compilation of approved Standard Specifications for use in  highway and bridge construction contracts. The General Provisions, Sections 1000 - 1999 deal with items common to all contracts relating to tender award, acceptance, payment and responsibility. The Standard Specifications, Sections 2000 - 8999 detail items specific to the work being undertaken.

The manual is to be used in the preparation of material requisitions. The Specifications for Manufactured Materials (SMM) can be used as part of the requisition.
