Did you know? Uranium City Airport is one of the most northerly airports in Saskatchewan - only 100 kms to the NWT border. Planning Studies Highway 11/12 CorridorThe Ministry of Highways, in conjunction with the City of Martensville, Town of Warman, and Rural Municipality of Corman Park, have hired a consultant to complete the Highway 11 & 12 Long Term Transportation Plan. The study limits include the corridors of Highway No. 11 and No. 12 from the intersection with the future Perimeter Highway to the intersection of Highway 305. The objectives of the study are to address existing safety concerns and develop a long term strategy for responding to the increasing growth and development in the area. The study is being completed in two phases. Phase I included the completion of an In-Service Safety Review in Winter 2011 to evaluate the existing conditions of the Highway corridors and the development of improvement alternatives to address existing concerns. The first public open house was held on April 27, 2011 in Martensville to increase awareness of the study, obtain feedback from stakeholders, and present the existing conditions, including traffic count data, collision history, and current geometrics. As part of an extensive public consultation plan, a second public open house was held on April 18, 2012 in Warman to present the findings of a consultant’s report, including the alternatives for potential improvements that have been developed. The completion of this study is expected to be in the fall of 2012. A third public open house will be held at that time to present the recommendations of the study. Advertising of the day, time, and location of all open houses for this study will be posted on this website. Further information regarding the first open house and the study scope can be found below.
