Transport Compliance Branch Highway Transport Patrol Fleet![]() Mobile Vehicle Inspection Station (MVIS) The Mobile Vehicle Inspection Station (MVIS) is the one of the tools used by Highway Traffic Officers in Saskatchewan. The unit was introduced into service in 1997, combining the functionality of a stationary inspection station and portability of a patrol car. The MVIS is equipped with both static portable weigh scales and portable weight in motion (WIM) capacitant mats allowing officers to easily weigh large volumes of traffic on all manner of highways. The MVIS is equipped with cell phones, fax/photocopier/printer, notebook computer and a fleetnet radio. The unit is capable of handling all weather condition in Saskatchewan. The rear of the unit is set up like an office with a work counter, cupboards, closets, large windows and stationary chairs. The MVIS is currently stationed out of Regina however, is used throughout the province. ![]() The Highway Transport Patrol Officers operate police vehicles which contain special equipment to weigh and inspect vehicles. ![]() Such equipment includes portable scales that are capable of weighing an 8 Axle B-Train, Radar and Fleetnet Radios. |
