ORDER for Road Restrictions on Provincial Highway No. 8 between the Communities of Norquay and Swan Plain.
Pursuant to section 35 of The Highways and Transportation Act, 1997.
Reference: Weight Restriction on Provincial Highway No. 8 between the Communities of Norquay and Swan Plain.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that from midnight August 15, 2004 to midnight November 14, 2004, and thereafter between midnight on March 14 to midnight on November 15 each year until 2014 unless restricted by Minister's Order when the road bed is determined to be inadequately frozen, i) Provincial Highway No. 8 from 0.5 km north of the junction of Highway No. 8 and Highway No. 49 to the community of Swan Plain at the south boundary of SE-27-36-1-W2 shall be restricted, as follows:
The maximum gross vehicle weight not to exceed 8 000 kg (17,600 lbs);
The maximum gross weight on any axle unit not to exceed 5 500 kg (12,100 lbs).
The restriction does not apply to:
Emergency vehicles;
Department of Highways and Transportation vehicles and rural municipal maintenance equipment when conducting maintenance or accessing sites on or along the restricted highway;
SaskPower and SaskTel vehicles when accessing sites along the restricted route;
Recreational vehicles;
Buses; or
Farm Equipment operated or towed;
Vehicles directly crossing Provincial Highway No. 8 at an intersecting public roadway.
This restriction will also be in effect from the period commencing on November 16 in one year and ending on March 14 of the following year and when the ambient temperature is above -6°C as reported at the City of Yorkton unless restricted by Minister's Order when the road bed is determined to be inadequately frozen.
This Order does not permit the weight on any axle, axle group or vehicle from exceeding the secondary weight prescribed in the "Vehicle Weight and Dimension Regulations, 1999" for that axle, axle group or vehicle.
This Order is issued on a permanent basis and should not be confused with Spring Road Restriction Orders.
