The Ministry operates four seasonal/ice roads including the Cumberland House Road (53 km), the Riverhurst Road (2 km), the Wollaston Lake Road (46 km) and the Athabasca Road (358 km).

ORDER for Road Restrictions on Highway 202

Pursuant to section 35 of The Highway and Transportation Act, 1997,

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that effective 12:00 Midnight, August 20th, 2001, and until further notice, vehicles other than those exempted below and those vehicles described in subsections 3(1) and (2) of the "The Vehicle Weight and Dimensions Regulations, 1999", on the following provincial highway:

  • Highway 202 from its intersection with Provincial Highway No. 301 west for 7.9 km to the NW end of the horizontal curve in the NE ¼ of section 32-18-26-2 and including the horizontal curve in the NW ¼ of section 33-18-26-2, except for:

i) When directly crossing Hwy No. 202 at an intersecting public highway

Shall be restricted as follows:

  • The maximum gross vehicle weight not to exceed 8 000 kg (17,600 lbs.)
  • The maximum gross weight on any axle unit not to exceed 6 000 kg (13,200 lbs.)

The restriction applies to all vehicles except those listed below:

  • Emergency vehicles;
  • Department of Highways and Transportation vehicles when conducting maintenance or accessing sites on or along the restricted highway
  •  Sask Power vehicles when accessing sites along the restricted route
  • Recreational vehicles; or
  • Buses
  • Maintenance equipment belonging to the RM of Moose Jaw No. 161 or the RM of Marquis No. 191

This Order is issued on a permanent basis and should not be confused with Spring Road Restriction Orders.
