Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure has 1,500 employees in 108 communities across the province.
EEMV Agreements may be entered into to allow shippers to make multiple trips with trucks that carry divisible loads and exceed the regulated dimensions for provincial highways. EEMV Agreements are only applicable on specific routes with specific configurations. EEMV include the following permitted configurations:
Rocky Mountain Doubles – Maximum of 31 Meters Turnpike Doubles – Maximum of 38 Meters. Queen City Triples – Maximum of 38 Meters.
Agreements to operate vehicle configurations or routes other than those specified in this policy must be made in accordance with Bulk Haul Agreement Policy or Overdimensional Vehicle Policy.
EEMV Haul Agreement Principles: Allow movement of LCV exceeding 25m and not exceeding 38m in length on specified portions of the provincial highway system. Vehicle configurations allowed under EEMV agreements are common across Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba by agreement. Only Designated routes are available.
Up to 31 metres: All 4 Lane Highways & specific 2 Lane Highways Up to 38 metres: 4 Lane Highways: #1 from Indian Head to Gull Lake #11 from Regina to Saskatoon
Additional 4 lane highway routes are available to EEMV partners under a separate Extended 4-Lane Agreement.
2. Freight must not be supported by the body of the vehicle (i.e. fuel tanks, loose grains, hanging meat, etc. not allowed) 3. Marine or domestic containers can not be hauled under EEMV agreements.
Additional Conditions of Overdimensional Haul Agreements: Dynamic vehicle characteristics must be within specified limits, only a defined group of vehicle configurations are allowed. Speed recording device required and speed restricted to 90km/h or posted speed, whichever is lower - Drivers are subject to special qualifications and performance criteria.
