ATPC Memorandum of Understanding

On April 4, 2002 representatives from all 11 Area Transportation Planning Committees (ATPC's) across Saskatchewan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the then Department of Highways and Transportation.  The MOU remains in place with the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure.

The MOU defines the roles, responsibilities and expectations of both the Ministry and the ATPCs to create an improved relationship that effectively meets the needs of both parties. The MOU was premised on a set of shared values that includes transparency, integrity, innovation, teamwork and commitment.

The groups view this MOU as a living document that will be updated to reflect the changing environment and mutual interest of all parties involved. The five goals of the draft MOU confirm the following shared goals:

1. Long-term transportation strategies and solutions
2. An integrated transportation planning system
3. Effective communication and education on transportation
4. A responsive mechanism for inputting Area Transportation Planning Committee Plans and concerns
5. An evaluative process for gauging progress under the agreement
